Jesseka's most recent gig was at Washingtonian.com, where she worked on production tasks as well as writing original content for the Web. She received her Master's in Print Journalism from American University in 2008. While finishing her studies, Jesseka was an entertainment intern at USA Today. Before returning to further her education she worked at CMJ, a music-focused magazine in New York City. She then relocated to Cleveland, and began working at cleveland.com as a news and entertainment editor, and also authored a rock blog. She continues to freelance, and hopes to, one day, become a famous rock journalist.
Jesseka has had a serious relationship with music since she was six years old, when she started playing the piano. She was a percussionist in her high school band--the xylophone was her forte. In her free time, she tried to learn the guitar, but has not surpassed the basics.
Since Jesseka is busy trying to be a professional, she finds little time to play. Therefore she lives vicariously through her friends that are professional musicians and spends a great deal of time listening to everything she can and writing about it. Music affects her life every day.
